Bridgette's Journal
Well, I certainly can say that life has been anything but dull since meeting up with my fellow companions. It's enough to make me think, sometimes, that the war was actually dull in comparison. Fortunately the feeling shortly passes. Would that the war have indeed been dull, we would have all been better off. However, I digress. Currently we are in St. Louis. I believe that is in the state of Missouri. I've been working diligently - desperately?- for a drug to help subdue the Asian vampires that have descended upon Chicago, making them far easier for our allies, and perhaps some of our foes, to kill. The attempt to replicate the bloodroot without using Sierra's methods has not proven the most successful as of now. However, I have a couple of other possibilities to explore. Hopefully I will have the answer in the next day or two and then we can all depart for elsewhere while things settle down in Chicago. Also, it is nice having C here and in good spirits. Pieter's idea of headphones to dampen the sound have worked wonders. I think this is the first peace C has had in decades.

ReplyDeleteI am truly glad that C, as you abbreviate his name, has been brought peace by such a simple device. I find it poetically appropriate that the materials for a device that covers his ears were derived from his hand -- hear no evil heartbeat, perhaps? It would be nice to be able to call him a comrade, if you Westerners would not be offended by such a "Bolshevik" word.

P.S. I am amused, though somewhat confused, by your apparent mental image of me as a man of Dutch heritage.
